Des-Case VentGuard™ Desiccant Breathers
Ideal for low-flow installations with intermittent operations, the Des-Case VentGuard Breather features unique check-valve technology that ensures the unit only allows air in when the machinery is active, thus maintaining isolation.
Des-Case designed the check-valves to operate without excessive pressure build-up and only allow the airflow when pressured to do so. Furthermore, the filters clean and dry the air before it enters the headspace.
The VentGuard breather thus eliminates premature saturation of the silica gel as well as extends the lifespan of the breather. In comparison, standard desiccant breathers will not be able to handle environments of extreme moisture with the same efficiency and reliability.

Many other factors such as humidity level, the frequency of airflow, ambient temperatures and chemical compatibility must be considered to determine the size of a breather accurately. Colour-Indicating Silica
When the silica turns pink, it is time to replace the unit.
Located at the bottom of the breather are check-valves which keep the system isolated until the equipment needs to breathe. Once the machinery becomes operational, the layered filter elements retain solid particulate from the air that moves through the breather. The desiccant beads in their turn absorb harmful moisture.
Both when the equipment is in operation and during shutdowns, the desiccant beads attract moisture from inside the reservoir, in effect drying out the machinery.
